IDMForums just launched their latest release (their track record is excellent so far) under their young netlabel idmf label, with renown artists with several songs in this very blog (IG88, Atoms of an Addict and Uchujin) reason why I can’t talk but wonders of the release. Here is a little teaser for you, its one of my very favourite tracks in the comp, its a new artist here on sonorobit, its Thousand Watt Smile – beating that incredible IDM we just cant get enough of.

IG88 sent me Poisson D’Avril which is featured on his MySpace, and according to him “I did all of the composition and vocals, its supposed to be me as a fish drifting through life with the stream uncertain of where i will be, pisces life style. Most of my drums samples are processed field recordings.”

Ahora Atoms of an Addict nos envía esta rolita de su proyecto Cymmetrics, visiten su myspace.

“Atoms of an Addict is Aaron Perez from Kingston, WA. He started this project in late 2006 and revised to electronic music sometime in 2007 and have been making prog electronica since. The electronic band, truffle shuffles members from time to time. But some recent friends whom have collaborated with the band are. Branden Clarke/IG-88/ALL OF THE OLIVES, Demi Wilson/CYMMETRICS, Mark Johnson, Danny Mullen/BLACK BEAT BLUE, and Tony Alecci/SOLAR POWER RADIO. Please give them all a listen, some of us play in the same groups as well. We enjoy sharing our music and gladly take encouraging feedback.

The song “Cat Nip Hot Flash” was mixed by Mark Johnson (who also is a member of “Cymmetrics” and played bass on this track) and recorded @ the Seattle AI. Demi Wilson tracked Grand Piano and Branden Clarke team up on drum sequencing. The meaning of the song is a feeling of addiction not being fixed. And the side effects of the ups and downs of this effect on the human brain and body. The song has ups and downs, with a hard hitting drum fix and ambient lush packed synth work for the euphoric state you sometimes occur. algo de idm de Altered tensions

bio: Altered Tensions is Matt Lange, an electronic music composer and sound designer currently residing in Boston, MA. He grew up in New York City and began playing piano before he could read. He later sang in the Grace Church Boy’s choir for 8 years and was deemed “Optimus” towards the end of his tenure. About the time his voice changed, Matt picked up the guitar, to which he is still an avid player, however, at the age of 13 he was introduced to Aphex Twin, and an obsession with electronic music was born. Matt graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Synthesis, studying under Dr. Richard Boulanger and Dr. Jeff Baust.
